What is the minimum number of people required to book a session?

Only 1! You do not need to find 10 people to come with you to enjoy cooking with our chef . You can come alone, with your partner, friends or colleagues. The amount of places left for each session is indicated when you book.

Can I organise a private session?

the kitchen has a seperate private dining room available for meetings, reunions, family dinner or just for some privacy.
You can rent this room for up to 10 people. This can be offered as part of a cooking session or as a privately catered room.
We also offer private cooking sessions,where you can book the kitchen completely for your event or occasion, from 4 - 40 people. Please send us your request to info@thekitchen.nl and we can discuss the options.

In which language will the sessions be given?

We are an international kitchen with multilingual staff. Depending on the group, the sessions will be either in english or dutch, but we can also imagine sessions in spanish, french or german!

How long before the beginning of the session should I arrive?

We would appreciate arriving at least 5 to 10 minutes before the starting time of your session. You will then get a feel of the kitchen, get your apron and maybe have a drink and relax in our lounge before our chef opens the prep kitchen for you. The sessions will start punctually, so late-comers will have to catch up!

Do I have to bring anything?

Just yourselves, a big smile and an empty stomach ! Weʼll provide all the rest.

 

What if I really cannot cook but still want to come?

the kitchen is designed for every level. Whether you are a foodie or you can’t boil an egg, the chef will follow you and guide you in the process. You don’t need to be a chef to create a great dish!

Do I have to cook or can I just come and eat?

the kitchen is all about food ! During the week, every session allows you to cook and then have your own food in our nice and cosy dining room. Over the weekend, during the day you can always pop in for a coffee and a slice of homemade cake and have a sit and flick through one of our cooking books. There are very short sessions for brunch but the evenings will remain the same.

Why do I have to pay a deposit?

The food ethos of the kitchen is focussed on locally sourced organic food in season and produced with respect. The ingredients are always fresh and for most of them delivered every day or picked up by our chef every morning. To avoid waste, we will always shop in the morning according to the number of reservations we have. This deposit allows us to cover a part of the food budget in case of non arrival.

What is the cancellation policy?

If for any reason you cannot come, we would appreciate it if you could contact us as far in advance as possible, as this will allow someone else to enjoy a session at the kitchen. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your session, the deposit will not be refunded.

In the price of the sessions, we include:
• the fresh ingredients
• the guidance of our professional chef
• all the utensils and equipment needed
• filtered still water
